Arkeovis Privacy Policy

Arkeovis (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile application operated by an independent developer based in France. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information when you use the App.

1. Data Controller

For GDPR purposes, the data controller is:

2. Information We Collect
2.1. Information you provide directly

  • Email address (or Apple relay email)

  • Account and authentication data

  • Onboarding preferences (experience level, goals, interests)

  • Inventory data (items, prices, descriptions, images, notes)

  • Support messages

2.2. Information automatically collected

  • Device info (iOS/Android, app version)

  • Usage data (features used, screens viewed, AI requests)

  • Subscription status (via Apple/Google/RevenueCat)

  • Error and diagnostic logs

  • Temporary IP address (for abuse prevention)

2.3. Information stored locally on your device

Some data (such as login session and preferences) is stored only on your device.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • provide AI-powered item identification and resale insights

  • manage your account and subscription

  • personalize your experience

  • track usage limits and prevent abuse

  • improve app performance and fix bugs

  • provide customer support

  • send service emails (and marketing if you opt in)

Legal bases: contract performance, legitimate interest, and consent where required.

4. Third-Party AI Disclosure

To provide AI-powered item identification, valuation, and resale insights, Arkeovis transmits the following user-provided content to Google LLC through the Gemini API:

• Uploaded item images (always)
• Item titles and descriptions (when provided)

Google LLC acts solely as a data processor on our behalf. Your photos and data are processed strictly to provide the AI features in this app. Google does not use your data to train its AI models or for any purpose unrelated to processing your request.

All AI processing occurs only after you provide explicit in-app consent.

AI-generated results are provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate.

5. Data Sharing (Third Parties)

We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the Service.

  • Supabase: Used for authentication, database services, file storage, and account management.

  • RevenueCat: Used to manage subscriptions and purchases.

  • PostHog: Used to analyze app usage and improve performance.

  • Google LLC (Gemini API): Used to process uploaded images, item descriptions, and related item information in order to provide AI-powered identification, valuation, and resale insights.

  • Brevo: Used to send transactional and marketing emails.

  • Apple and Google: Used to process payments and subscription transactions.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary:

  • Account & inventory: while you use the App

  • Images: until deleted or account deletion

  • Analytics: up to ~12 months

  • AI usage logs: up to 12 months

  • Contact form data: up to 12 months

  • Legal deletion record: retained for compliance

Some data may be retained if required by law.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure authentication, and access controls.

However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU, you have the right to:

  • access your data

  • correct inaccurate data

  • delete your data

  • restrict or object to processing

  • data portability

  • withdraw consent

  • lodge a complaint with CNIL

9. Children

The App is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email is shared with Brevo. You can unsubscribe at any time.

11. No Advertising

We do not use ads, advertising trackers, or cross-app tracking systems.

12. Cookies

The App does not use browser cookies. We may use analytics tools (such as PostHog) to understand usage inside the App.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will notify you in the App or by email.
